INTERNATIONAL CELLO FESTIVAL TRUST BOARD

The International Cello Festival Trust was formed in 1998 by invitation of the Artistic Director Alexander Ivashkin. The primary purpose of the formation of the trust was to gather together individuals with a keen interest in being involved in the festival in an advisory and/or financial capacity. These members include private sponsors and representatives of organizations associated with music festival events.

The International Cello Festival Trust Board has two key goals:

1. To host a festival of international significance and standing in Christchurch. Providing local and national audiences with the opportunity to attend a truly world class event featuring some of the today’s finest cellists and a glimpse at the stars of tomorrow.

2. To raise the profile and development of young New Zealand musicians by providing an opportunity to compete with their international peers, learn from world class musicians through participating in master classes and workshops and facilitate the development of international support networks.
